Be Not Discouraged, There Is Hope.  By Edna Robinson.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick…” (Proverbs 13:12a)

Working at an agency designed to encourage people that there is hope for resolving adverse situations can be a difficult task when individuals on the other end of the phone are distraught and believe their problems should end immediately.  In addition, hearing so many distressing problems can overwhelm the human soul.  But diligence and attentiveness were required when receiving numerous troubling phone calls throughout the workday.  Remaining calm and encouraging were also requirements while offering hope that help was on the way.

Although the circumstance occurred several years ago on a previous job, when considering those troubling requests from various individuals, I am reminded of the numerous petitions and prayers God receives from people who are burdened with tremendous difficulties.  Even Scripture informs about many biblical men and women experiencing troubling times and calling on God for help.  Likewise, even king David expressed his soul to the LORD God when gripped with much grief and despair, saying,

“I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou has considered my trouble; thou has known my soul in adversities.  Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee” (Psalms 31:7, 17).

These verses and similar ones have been the cries and petitions of the women presenting at Hearts Being Healed Ministries Women Conferences.  They have known adversities, and in times of trouble, they made their requests known unto God.  Though their hopes were deferred for a while, God heard their pleads, restored their souls, healed their broken hearts, and reconciled them back to Him.  Praise God!

“…but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12b).

Come and gather with us as nine amazing women describe their awe-inspiring messages of how God delivered them from troubling situations as they put their faith and hope in Him.

“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And hope makes not ashamed: because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts…” (Romans 5:2, 5).
