It was an act of love when a coworker invited me to my first Hearts Being Healed conference in Chico many years ago. She knew that I was a believer in Christ but was struggling with a few issues. This friend also insisted on paying for me to attend the conference. She even took things a step further. She knew that I lived in Paradise (she lived in Chico), but she insisted on picking me up for the conference and returning me home.
What a blessing the entire day was, right from the start. The ladies that checked us in were friendly and welcoming. I was given a red bag that was filled with items that I might need throughout the day. There were even some tissues and chocolates in the bag.
First, we met in the sanctuary for a time of praise and worship. There were some sweet unexpected blessings.
Then we were excused to hear our 1st selected speaker. The young woman shared a difficult story. I was grateful for the extra tissues in my bag. But God. The Lord, showed up for this woman and walked her through the trial and sorrows she faced and brought her through to a closer walk with Him and gave her peace with her situation. The scriptures she shared blessed those in her session.
Next we had lunch. It was good food and fellowship. The men served us, they were all so polite and kind. And there were raffle prizes. Wow! I won a cute Snoopy mug.
Our 2nd session speaker was interesting. She, too, had a hard time, but through prayer and devotion to quiet time with the Lord, she found peace and healing. Her sharing helped and blessed us.
We all gathered back in the Sanctuary in the afternoon to hear the Keynote Speaker. Her story was impactful. Then we took communion and did a few things pertaining to items in our red bag. A little more praise and worship music and then we were excused.
As a bonus, if you fill out the few papers in the bag (evaluations) and turn them in for a special drawing, you may possibly win a beautiful handmade quilt.
What a wonderful day! I thanked my friend repeatedly!
I continued to attend Hearts Being Healed every year inviting friends and family to join me.
I was blessed to share my story in 2014 and applied to join the Chico HBH board the next year and have served on the board since. I have been blessed beyond measure by this ministry and met many special friends in several states.
The Chico Chapter of Hearts Being Healed is now preparing for our 21st conference. I invite you to our conference. Please go to our website for online registration: https://chico.heartsbeinghealed.org/chico/speakers-schedule/
Here you will find all our Speakers listed and a short description of their topic, and when they will speak. During our 3 breakout sessions, you will choose:
Session 1 – Choose one speaker
Session 2 – Choose a speaker OR lunch
Session 3 – Choose a speaker OR lunch, depending on which you chose in session 2. After registering for all three sessions, you should have chosen a total of 2 speakers and l lunch.
Everyone will hear the Keynote Speaker in the Closing Session.
I encourage you to attend and bring your women friends and family members, 18 years and older. (Sorry, but nobody under 18 can legally be admitted due to subject content, and we are unable to offer childcare at this time.)
The last day that you can register to have a lunch meal included is March 9th. You may register at the door the day of the conference, but since the caterer’s deadline is past, you will need to bring your own lunch.
I hope to meet you there!
