We have nothing to give of value, but He asks for us to tell others about Him.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble. – Psalm 107:2 (ESV)
One of the foundations and a unique feature of Hearts Being Healed Conferences is that we do not employ professional speakers to headline our conferences. Instead, we invite ordinary women led by the power of Holy Spirit to share the story of their personal encounter with Jesus and how He reconciled them to God and restored their life.
Everyone has a story.
It may be past trauma resulting from abuse of various natures and impact, or perhaps trauma created by our own bad decisions, leading to addiction, bitterness, anger, fear, or self-loathing. We may have had idols and strongholds well hidden and buried within until Holy Spirit revealed them and the need for forgiveness and healing. Sometimes what seems so minor and insignificant is actually very big and soul-destroying, but well disguised until Truth is revealed through Holy Spirit and the Lie is exposed for what it is.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth. – Acts 1:8 (ESV)
Have YOU shared your story?
Has God healed you and brought you out of the darkness and into the light?
Has Jesus transformed you, exchanging your broken life for a life of purpose and beauty?
Sharing your testimony with others can be a powerful and important way to thank God for all he has done for you.
The Bible says in Isaiah 12:4 (TLB)
“Thank the Lord! Praise His name! Tell the world about His wondrous love and how mighty He is!”
Sharing the story of your life journey, and the circumstances and miracle of your life transformation after being redeemed and restored to right relationship with God, has the power to set other women on the course that can set them free and transform their lives too. As we recount what God has done for us, our hearts are humbled and we are filled with thanksgiving. This heart of thanksgiving is not just an occasional event, but He desires us to nurture a lifestyle of gratitude. When our life expresses gratitude in everything we do and say, miracles happen.
Sharing your testimony with others builds your self-confidence. You’ll be amazed at how God continues to teach you even as you speak. Hearing your own voice publicly declare the goodness of God in your life will strengthen your confidence, strengthening the belief that you are all that God says you are.
Another benefit of sharing your story is that it builds your faith. Every time you declare God’s work in your life and the positive impact of your relationship with him, you add another “dose of faith in your faith bucket”. Like seeing your answers to prayer in your journal remind you of God’s goodness, retelling your own story of his goodness reminds you yet again how much he loves you and that he does what he says he will do, making it easier to trust him in all things.
God also teaches us new lessons and gives deeper revelations as we prepare to share our testimony. I can’t tell you how many times our conference speakers have shared after the conference that they learned so much from the experience of speaking to others about God’s work in their own life. Every time we meditate on what God has done for us personally, we learn more truths, and understand even more about the depth of His love and mercy.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble. Psalms 107:1-2
As we tell the story of our broken life being transformed by Jesus, Holy Spirit will draw the listeners to Himself, and open their hearts to hear, to understand and to receive the healing He has for them.
So, I ask YOU …
What has God done in your life that you can share with other women who are struggling through difficult circumstances or with life in general?
We are now accepting applications to speak at our 2026 Chico HBH Conference. If any of this message has inspired you to at least consider sharing your story, please pray and follow God’s leading regarding applying to speak at our next conference.
It’s so easy to apply online by clicking here: https://heartsbeinghealed.org/want-to-speak/
The first thing you will do is click on the drop down menu arrow beside, “Please choose an event you’d like to speak at” and choose Chico. After that you will simply answer the questions on the form. Use as many words as you need. It’s better to send more info than necessary than not enough. When you are finished, click “Submit” and you are done!
If you need help, you can email questions directly to us at info@heartsbeinghealed.org
You may also ask for a paper form to fill out and mail to us if you are unable to do it online.
If you do submit an application, be prepared to exercise patience, as it is quite a lengthy process for us to get to the point of officially inviting an applicant to speak at our next conference, and that won’t begin until after the window to accept applications has closed, usually about two months after the conference.
And remember …
When you do tell your story, the focus and purpose of your testimony is to praise and glorify God.
It is the story of God’s redemption, love, grace, and mercy, in the transformation of your life.
God is great. Your testimony is inspiring, but your story is great because God is great!
