Roadblocks – Knock Them Down. By Christina Cannon.
What is stopping you from becoming healthy and whole? What is preventing you from seeking and obtaining freedom?
Unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, doubt, lack of trust, and lack of self-worth foster a negative mindset. Those are some of the reasons that hinder or stop our progress.
There are many reasons a person may avoid seeking freedom. Some feel it is impossible.
Matthew 19:26b reminds us,
“With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
It is impossible to do on our own. But with God and a godly counselor, it is possible. God does and will use other people to help us in the journey to wholeness.
Some choose to hold onto the pain of their past because it is too painful to process.
Some feel that forgiving another would be letting that person off the hook.
And some choose to remain the victim.
There are several reasons someone chooses to remain broken. It is a choice to remain broken!
Jesus came to set the captive free. He came to release us from whatever binds our souls.
Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Are you allowing the pain of the past and the unjust circumstances to remain a roadblock to your recovery?
Continually playing the recording of the past keeps you bound. Begin a new recording, one that speaks life into your soul. Feed your mind with God’s word of truth so that you can override those lies with hope!
Romans 8:6
“For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
Are you tired and weary in your current condition? If so, there is good news. You can choose to allow God to help you find healing. He is our help. He is our hope. As Matthew 19:26 tells us, nothing is impossible with God.
Don’t allow the pain of the past and the unforgiveness in your soul to rob you of the freedom and healing God has for you. It is hard; I can’t say that it isn’t. But it is worth it. It is so worth going through the process. The outcome is worth every bit of pain you have to go through to get to the other side of healing!
Freedom is worth it!
You are worth it!
Remove the Roadblocks and begin the road to healing! God will be with you on that journey.
Isaiah 41:10 NASB
‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you. I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
A post from Louie Giglio that supports my message today:
“Instead of playing defense with harmful thoughts that come your way, take action and deliberately place helpful thoughts to change the narrative of your mind. A great way to go on offense with your thought life is to grab hold of one of these Scriptural truths each day of the week.
Monday: My God knows my name. (Isaiah 43:1)
Tuesday: My God goes before me. (Isaiah 42:12)
Wednesday: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
Thursday: My present suffering pales in comparison to my future glory. (Romans 8:18)
Friday: No weapon formed against me will prosper. (Isaiah 54:17)
Saturday: I am a child of God. (Romans 8:16)
Sunday: The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me. (Ephesians 1:18–20)
Think about these things. Carry them with you through each day. Don’t stop telling yourself these truths until you fall asleep at night.”
