Searching for the Real You. By Sara Cain.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything else flows from it.” -Proverbs 4:23
From the beginning, God designed this ministry of Hearts Being Healed to reach women whose lives have been hijacked by trauma, especially those perpetrated on them by men. As a result of those, a secondary trauma sometimes occurs: the often ignored and overlooked self-induced traumas that are the natural consequence of ongoing poor choices. There’s another kind of trauma that is so sinister because it is hidden from our conscience mind: the perversion of our beliefs and values about our own identity.
This is why Hearts Being Healed conferences, and Treasures Out of Trauma classes offered after the conferences, were created. God wants to heal every wounded heart.

God says He is close to the brokenhearted, offering healing, comfort, and salvation to those crushed in spirit, promising to hear their cries, bind their wounds, and bring purpose from pain. (Psalms 34:18, Psalms 147:3, Isaiah 61:1, and I Peter 5:7.)
Hearts Being Healed is a place to discover the real YOU.
Whatever has happened to you during your life in the physical realm has been orchestrated by the evil one in the spirit realm. Some refer to him as the devil or satan. I refer to him as “the enemy of our soul” because he has made it his purpose to separate us from God, and from our true identity and inheritance that comes from being a Beloved Daughter of the God of the Universe. Ephesians 6:12 explains,
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
God has been fighting for you since the beginning. Exodus 14:14,
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
The good news of this scripture is realizing that the battle is not ours to win or lose. It is being fought in the spiritual realm on our behalf. It reveals the lie that we just need to be stronger, work harder and do better.
The way we win is not to work harder, but to surrender more.
We win by surrendering to Jesus. We invite Him to be our Savior. When we are tempted or grow weary of the battles this life brings to us through illness, financial hardship, relationship problems, grief or whatever kind of trauma, we lay it all down at Jesus’ feet. We surrender our own will with our feeble attempts to control everything to Him.
Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
Trauma hardens our heart. But when we surrender to Jesus, He lovingly takes that hard stone that never feels safe and unable to trust, and changes it into a warm life-filled heart of flesh that is able to receive love, forgiveness, peace, trust, and joy.
Treasures Out of Trauma classes are offered after our conferences. These classes teach you how to receive God’s complete healing from your traumas and how to embrace your new identity according to who God says you are. It will take a commitment from you to attend regularly and work diligently, but Jesus promises to be with you every step of the way. He will reveal Himself to you in a new and fuller way. You can trust Him to break off those chains holding you back and lead you into life to the fullest.
One of my favorite scriptures to remind me that I am safe from whomever and whatever may come is found in John 10:28-29 (Jesus speaking),
“I give them eternal life. They shall never perish, nor shall anyone snatch them from My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them from My Father’s hand.”
When we surrender our heart to Jesus and allow Him to guide our thoughts and steps, we have security; no one can snatch us from Him. NO ONE can separate us from His love and protection if we have fully surrendered to Jesus.
Praying scripture is a powerful way to pray. Repeating God’s own words back to Him tells Him we trust His Words, believe what He says, and desire to be who God says we are.
If you are a new believer and just discovering the miracle of Jesus in your life, may I suggest starting each day with this prayer from Psalms 51:10-12 (The Passion Translation):
Keep creating in me a clean heart. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you. May you never reject me! May you never take from me your sacred spirit! Let my passion for life be restored, tasting joy in every breakthrough you bring to me. Hold me close to you with a willing spirit that obeys whatever you say. Amen.
We invite you to come hear women’s stories about their encounter with Jesus and how He took their shattered life shaped by trauma and transformed it, becoming the beautiful woman they were created to be, revealing their true identity to them.
