The Praise of Infants and Children.  By Sara Cain.

The unthinkable happened. Again. Evil so despicable that our brains cannot fully comprehend what we just saw or heard. And yet, the physical results are so painfully undeniable.

Make no mistake… we are in a war, a Spiritual War of such magnitude that it cannot be ignored. No more denial. No more burying our head in the sand. No more politely refraining from including it in conversation for fear of offending someone.

God’s Word tells us that satan will be allowed to rule the earth, the world of selfish lusts and every evil thing under the sun, in the last days. I have no idea what “the last days” means in terms of our human time measuring standards, but I know they have arrived.

Another school shooting occurred this week. Two precious children were murdered and one is still in critical condition, and another 13 are injured. This happened while they were in a church sanctuary preparing to worship. We know what this feels like ourselves as we recall the shooting at an Adventist school here in our own Butte County.

This is the world we have passed down to our children.

So what is going on?

The Bible answers this if we are listening to Holy Spirit for understanding. Not only does it warn us about the last days, but it tells us who the primary targets of the evil one will be … the innocent, the preborn and young children.

Why?

Psalm 8:2 in the Passion translation explains:

“You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies. Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children. This kind of praise has the power to shut Satan’s mouth”.

These are powerful words!

Here is the same scripture in other translations for those of you who trust one more than others.

“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” NIV

“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength
because of Your enemies, to silence the enemy and the avenger.” MEV

“You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.” NLT

And last, but not least, the first English translation, King James Version:

“Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”

Jesus refers to this truth himself by quoting scripture in a key moment during His ministry. After Jesus entered Jerusalem riding the donkey on Psalm Sunday, and was praised and declared the Son of David by the crowd while singing “Hosanna to the Highest”, Jesus visited the temple. Speaking in story-telling mode, this is one of the most dramatic scenes during His ministry.

Matthew 21:12-16

Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers.’”

The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.

But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.

“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”

So, now, is there any question as to why satan is targeting infants and children? On the same day that Jesus rides into Jerusalem to allow the people to publicly declare that He is the Messiah and son of God, he displays the righteous anger of God by destroying the things that made a mockery of God’s house AND he declares that infants and children have the Kingdom power to shut satan’s mouth.

We are seeing this targeting of children with our own eyes. We are surely among the worst offenders of allowing this without much conversation or repercussions even though we have the knowledge, technology, manpower, and money to fight it.

Abortion, child abductions- both by individuals for their own perverted evil reasons and by those engaged in child trafficking, mass shootings at schools, children mentally, physically and sexually abused in their own homes, the mutilation of healthy children under the lie of a gender correction that comes straight out of hell- all this going on under our very noses.

Some of the scenes where we have lost children recently add another dimension to the story. The people targeting our children are especially drawn to Christian children. This most recent shooting was at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis while the children were worshipping. Our own Butte County school shooting was at Feather River School of Seventh Day Adventists where children were playing at recess expressing joy.

This latest shooter, as well as others in the past, have said that they were obsessed with the idea of killing children.

I’m going to include the Texas July 4th flood victims here, too, where many who  drowned were children at Camp Mystic Christian Camp for Girls in Kerr County, Texas. I’m including these victims because it has been determined that the massive flood that took over 150 lives, (including children in addition to those at Camp Mystic) was the result of cloud seeding.

Think about it.

Who decided they knew better than God about when and where to initiate rain and who is arrogant enough to think they can improve on God’s creation? Who is behind this business and what is their intentions? Why were the clouds seeded during that week? Why was that location chosen? Even if all the humans involved in this are innocent (I doubt it), we know that the idea behind the answer to these questions is from the pit of hell. He can shoot “idea arrows” into our thoughts and He does all the time, and if you don’t surrender your thoughts to Holy Spirit, you will be the evil one’s pawn, knowingly or unknowingly.

And if all that is not bad enough, our governments are party to the abuse and endangerment of our children through the laws they are enacting.  CA AB 495 soon to be voted on is a perfect example. As always with anything spawned by the evil one, deception is key. The name of this bill is The Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025, as though to protect families from situations that could harm their children, when in fact, it opens the door for predators and all kinds of evil.

So what are we to do about it?

First, honor our children … everyone’s children, they are all Kingdom children.

Psalm 127:3-

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

Second, humble ourselves to become as a little child with a pure open heart to trust God and praise Him at all times. Run to Him with abandon and take delight in his presence.

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3-4  (“this child” was one who “dared” to approach Jesus when custom would say he should and could not)

When we live our life this way, we are joining  the chorus of earth’s children that can and does shut satan down.

What else can and should we do?

1. Pray without ceasing for the protection of all children everywhere, and spread the word about their immense Spiritual impact on society.

2. Memorize Psalm 8:2 as a reminder that we DO have a way to shut satan down. God has allowed him a lot of power, but God gave us greater power. (I John 4:4)

3. Continue the good fight against abortion and support organizations that educate, train, and support spiritually and financially women who choose life for their baby instead of abortion.

4. Support as best you can any vetted organization that fights child trafficking. One of my favorite child trafficking rescue organizations is Courage Worldwide, who work here in northern CA, northern Nevada, and in Tanzania in East Africa. Another favorite is the Tim Tebow Foundation, which works to rescue trafficked children as well as full ministry to some of the most vulnerable people around the world. Abba Father, Lord of All, Powerful and Sovereign Ruler of the Universe,
We humble ourselves before you and offer ourselves as one with a heart like an innocent child. Fill us with your joy and praise that we may continually bring your presence wherever we are. Give us boldness to speak up to protect your children and teach others what you have ordained regarding children. Keep us faithful to pray for others and share your gospel. Empower us through believing and acting on Psalm 8:2 so that the evil one will be shut down. Thy Kingdom come, thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

In loving memory of these precious children and the thousands of others who have been victims of hate, violence and evil of all kinds.

And we give praise and thanksgiving to you Jesus for saving and healing our precious Butte County victims, Roman and Elias.
