Unity in Community.  By Edna Robinson.

The Idaho chapter of Hearts Being Healed had its first in-person meeting Saturday, March 2, 2024, after the rebuilding and reshaping process.  We were excited to meet each other as our small chapter joined together for the purpose of preparing for the upcoming conference.  One member hosted the meeting and provided an agenda outlining the structure for a four-hour gathering of fellowship, prayer, refreshments, and thanking God for guidance.

“For when two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

We were unified in agreement, in one accord seeking to accomplish the goals of the ministry.  As each member spoke about their interest in Hearts Being Healed, it was clear that the theme of the meeting was unity.  When the devotional message was read, the title ‘In Unity’ aligned with the theme.  Several important facts about unity were outlined in the message:

  • It is a small, five-letter word with powerful implications that can immensely impact every area of human life, both physically and spiritually.
  • The word unity is a noun, which is the main idea or subject of a sentence.
  • It is an intangible noun that cannot be grasped like a physical object.
  • It cannot be detected by the five physical senses: hear, see, smell, taste, and touch.
  • It must be established with three significant features: general rules, instructions, and goals.

“Unity is described as a harmonious bringing together of multiple elements. In the Bible, unity is seen in the marriage of a man and a woman, the unity of believers through the Holy Spirit, and ultimate unity among all believers through Jesus Christ.  Unity is a divine gift that brings God success, growth, and glory.”[1]

Our first in-person meeting was successful in glorifying God and uniting us together in one accord to understand what needs to be accomplished over the next several months.  With plans in motion and volunteers assisting, we are moving forward to achieve the goals of presenting this year’s conference.

“Unity means being or staying together. That means helping and supporting each other…Being together is the key to build a good and strong society and relationships. Unity is important at every step in our life.”[2]

Have a Happy St. Patrick Day in honor of his unifying effort to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and convert a people to Christianity.
