Yahl, Trust in Hebrew. By Rhonda Kamps.
Trusting God is not a feeling, it is a decision. The English version of the word trust means to believe or hope. In Hebrew it is often translated as hope, when the true meaning is to know. A decision is then made to know that God will always come through, because He always does. Confidence built on His consistency. A decision I choose, knowing that He always completes what He states He will.
The sun always rises. Annie sings, “The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar, there will be sun.”
You don’t doubt that the sun will rise! You know the Maker of light. It is confirming with God, I really have no idea what you are doing, but I still trust in You. A decision. It is not being passive; it’s choosing to know that He knows best and will deal with it in His perfection.
Trust is always built in chaos not clarity. That you have total confidence in God’s character even when you are unsure of the outcome. God is always present, always working, and always so good.
Jeremiah 17:7, “
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. And whose hope is in the Lord.”
Proverbs 30,
“Every word of God is pure. He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”
Trusting in God, knowing He defends me and protects me from all the things I am not aware of. That is called security in Christ.
The chaos of the sinful world we dwell in temporary feels hopeless.
Trusting and knowing He will one turn it back into the perfect world that He created it to be when He returns.
In illnesses, unhealed issues, family chaos, unsaved people, Trust in all confidence He has it all completely under control. It may not always be the answer we are expecting or wanting. But rest in that the author of perfection is tending to the prayer, the lament, the tears, and desires.
He handles everything with precision and accuracy.
Letting Him have it all, unchained, unbridled trust.
