Love.  By Su Small.

There is more about God’s love than Christmas.

For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. – John 3:16 TPT

To believe in Jesus, in the way John 3:16 describes, is to truly give our hearts and lives to Jesus. Believing in Jesus is a daily choice to dedicate our lives to him, and to seek his kingdom rather than indulge ourselves.

God loves us!  He gave of Himself through the physical person of Jesus Christ! To bring a fallen world back to Him!  And He is still loving us because He lives within us through His Holy Spirit!

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Lord thank You that Your love is joy.  Joy is love’s strength.  Help us to be joyful in all we do.

Thank You that Your love brings peace.  Peace is love’s security.  Help  us to share our security with others.

Thank You that Your love is patient. Patience is love’s endurance. Help us to endure  patiently with  one another.

Thank You that Your love is kind. Kindness is love’s conduct. Help us to conduct Ourselves with Your love.

Thank You that Your love is good.  Goodness is love’s character. Help us to have Your character.

Thank You that Your love is faithful. Faithfulness is love’s confidence. Help us be faithfully confident in Your love.

Thank You that Your love is gentle.  Gentleness is love’s humility.  Help us to be humble before You and others.

Thank You that Your love is self-control.  Self control is love’s victoryHelp us to be victorious in our actions.

“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

Dear Lord, help us to love as You love. Fill us with Your Spirit so that we can choose what is best. We are weak Lord, but we know also, that even when we are weak, You are strong within us. Thank You that it’s not all up to us. Thank You that You equip us to face each day with the power of Your love, Your forgiveness, and Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“ I have loved you with an everlasting love;  therefore I have continued  my faithfulness to you.”    – Jeremiah 31:3
