Who are we, and what do we do? By Brenda Aguila.
We are a group of women who yearn to serve in one of the most neglected ministries in the church today. God has allowed a select group of women to serve in this ministry that is bringing hope and love to women who feel abandoned or feel that even within their churches they do not receive the understanding they deserve. Society today has overseen making the victims guilty for what they have gone through or experienced. Our mission is to give back a little of what these women have lost over the years.
God is still interested in our emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and for that reason, He has opened doors in Idaho so that women who feel forgotten and psychologically marginalized can find a safe place to listen to the testimonies of other women who have gone through similar things or worse.
In the book of Joshua in chapter 2, we find the story of a woman named Rahab. If we go and study this story, we see that this woman was of questionable reputation, but she believed in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For that reason, she helped the children of God to be able to enter and spy on the land that God had promised to the people of Israel. Rahab was a woman who perhaps the circumstances of her life had forced her to lead the life she led, but thanks to this act of kindness, God showed mercy and love to her and to her entire family.
This story of Rahab is embodied in the book of Joshua as an example of hope, obedience, and above all, love from God towards this woman and her family. God wants us as women not to feel lesser or worthless, since He can change our situation or circumstances. God can change us, transform us, and above all, he wants us to be that agent of change that our society needs.
We can become those virtuous women who have been transformed by the power and love of God; we simply must believe in Him and above all obey Him and leave our past behind, and not carry those burdens that are unnecessary for our lives. Growing and maturing requires that we remember who we were, yet we are no longer. God is willing to transform our lives and we firmly believe that the HBH Idaho conference is the opportunity that God uses to transform and change those women who so eagerly seek help from God.
If you feel tired, exhausted and without hope, this is your opportunity for God to change your present and your future. Your past is irrelevant to what God wants and can do in your life and that of your family. Just as Rahab is remembered as an agent of change, you will also be that virtuous woman who will transform not only her life but that of many more women, if you only say yes to the Lord who transforms and changes even the most forgotten by society.
Our desire is to see all those women who come to the conference transformed and leave renewed, transformed and with a new vision and mission of life. If you want God to transform your life, we are waiting for you to celebrate and mark the day that God filled your heart with hope. Believe God who is the one who makes the changes on time. And we firmly believe that there is always a day and a date, and this may be for you on September 16, 2023. We are waiting for you!
The violence broke us, but God strengthened our desire to get ahead!
